Who we are

CUEvio (cuev.io) is operated by Axivus Labs. This policy explains what information CUEvio collects, why, and how it is used.

Information you give us

Account data: when you create an account we store your email address, a securely hashed password (or sign-in details from the provider you choose), your username, and optional profile details such as display name, avatar, bio, and whether your profile is public.

Your activity: titles you add to your CUElist and their status (for example want, watching, watched), ratings, written reviews, lists you create or save, list collaborators, friend connections, and watch parties including proposed times and votes.

Public reviews: if you choose to submit a review as public, it is reviewed by our team before it appears. Approved public reviews are shown on title pages along with your username and display name, and may be included in page data read by search engines.

Titles you add manually: if you add a title that is not in our catalog, we store the details you enter and link it to your account.

Newsletter signups: if you subscribe, we store your email address, the date you signed up, where on the site you signed up, and whether your subscription is active.

Contact form: if you message us, we store your name, email address, subject, and message so we can reply.

Information collected automatically

Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device, and browser.

First-party page tracking: CUEvio sends page views and basic events (the page path, the referring page, your browser user agent, and a random session identifier) to an analytics service run by Axivus Labs, our parent company. Admin pages are never tracked.

Advertising: some pages show ads served through the Axivus Labs ad service. To choose an ad, the page path and the same random session identifier are sent to that service, and ad views and clicks are recorded.

Cookies and browser storage

Sign-in: your login session is stored in your browser so you stay signed in.

Preferences: we save choices such as CUElist filters, search sort order, and list sort order in your browser so they persist between visits.

Newsletter prompt: we remember whether you dismissed or completed the newsletter signup, and count pages viewed in the current visit, so the prompt is not shown too often.

Session identifier: a random identifier is kept for the current browser tab and is cleared when the tab closes. It is used for analytics and ads as described above.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies as described by Google.

How we use information

To run your account and show your CUElist, ratings, reviews, and lists; to display public content you choose to share; to recommend titles based on your activity; to moderate public reviews; to send newsletters you asked for; to reply to messages; to email you about the status of reviews you submit; and to understand and improve how the site is used. We do not sell your personal information.

Third parties that receive data

Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in system, file storage, and server functions.

Resend: sends our emails, such as review status notices and replies related to contact and newsletter activity.

Cloudflare: provides our domain and network services, and processes traffic to the site.

Google: Google Analytics measures site usage.

Prerender.io: creates copies of public pages so search engines can read them. It only handles public page content.

Axivus Labs: receives page view, event, and ad data as described above.

TMDB and Google Books: title information and images are loaded from these services. Your searches for movies, shows, and books are sent to them to find matching titles.

Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at https://www.aboutads.info

Your choices and deleting your data

You can edit your profile, make it private, change review visibility, and remove ratings, reviews, and lists at any time from your account.

To have your account and associated data deleted, or to unsubscribe from the newsletter, email axivuslabs@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We will confirm and process the request.

Children

CUEvio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date below shows when it last changed.
