Goodfellas is one of the best movies of all time and absolutely one of the greatest mob movies ever made because it feels so alive, dangerous, and effortless from start to finish. Scorsese directs it with incredible energy, the cast is perfect across the board, and the movie captures the seduction and chaos of gangster life better than almost anything else in the genre. What makes it special is that it’s not just stylish—it’s brutally honest about how fast the glamour turns into paranoia, violence, and collapse.
