While Moana looks beautiful and remains faithful to much of the original story, it struggles to justify its existence alongside the animated classic. The performances are solid, but much of the magic, emotion, and charm that made the original so memorable doesn't fully translate to live action. It's watchable, but ultimately feels unnecessary compared to its animated predecessor.
